Could GKWC volunteers help your organization?

Each year the GKWC provides volunteers for 20 - 25 community events.  The club holds an annual community service planning meeting in June each year to review and select events for the upcoming 12-month period.  This list is then presented to the board and general club membership for approval prior to beginning volunteer sign-ups.  The majority of our volunteer activities are selected and approved through this annual process.  Occasionally during the year, we are able to add additional community service projects.  These projects must still be approved by the board and the general membership and have ample time for volunteer sign-ups.

If your organization would like to request GKWC volunteers, for optimal consideration please submit your request to communityservice@gkwc.org in April or May for the upcoming 12-month period.  This will allow us to review the opportunity at our meeting in June.  If you miss this window, we request 90 days’ lead time for mid-year consideration.

We request the following information for consideration of community service projects:

1)       Name and description of event
2)       Date of event
3)       Sponsoring organization
4)       Tasks GKWC volunteers requested for
5)       Number of volunteers requested
6)       Volunteer shift information
7)       Contact information of volunteer coordinator
8)       Any other helpful information – inside or outside, volunteer training sessions held in advance, attire, etc.

Thank you for your interest in GKWC volunteer activities.

Please remember to continue turning in your volunteer hours to myself communityservice@gkwc.org or Betty Osburn betty.osburn@att.net

The club has volunteered 9,277 hours through January. We are tracking ahead of last year at this time when we were at 7,000 hours. Thanks to all our fabulous volunteers!

Please keep turning in your hours to Betty Osburn each month, and if you need to catch up for the year, now is the time! You can go as far back as May 1st 2011.

If you haven't signed up for our incredible volunteer opportunities, please check out the CHECK HERE for the entire schedule.
