Pat will representGKWC as its Shining Star at the 14th Annual Shining Star Awards Luncheon on October 22, 2010 at the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas. 

Pat was selected by a committee of previous GKWC Shining Stars. The purpose of this event is to honor distinguished area volunteers, while raising funds to support the many cultural and educational programs of ARTSNET.

Pat has been a member of the GKWC since 2007. Her positions on the board have included Philanthropy Chairperson (‘08-’09) and President (‘09-’10). She has also been involved with the Reading Buddy program at Willis Lane Elementary, the GKWC Garden of Roses Fashion Show, and the GKWC Bunco Babe's just to name a few. She also has supported and attended community and civic events wherever and whenever possible to further public awareness of GKWC.

No matter what the need, big or small, you can always count on Pat to give 100% of her time and energy. Pat has gone above and beyond in her role as a club member, and last year volunteered 1,118 hours for GKWC, learning the President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award. In May and June of 2010, Pat has already volunteered over 200 hours.  

On behalf of the Shining Star Committee, it is an honor and a privilege to award Pat Fleming as the GKWC 2010 Shining Star Recipient.
